Women In The Wild Blue: Target-Towing WASP at Camp Davis (2006) By David A. Stallman

This is a tribute to the WASP, heroic young women who flew military aircraft during WWII. The Women Airforce Service Pilots ferried aircraft from factory to airbase, and towed aerial targets for anti-aircraft gunnery training.

Camp Davis, North Carolina, figured prominently in anti-aircraft training and the early development of drone planes. Through journals, letters home, and interviews, we have a window into their lives and their missions.

These women were pioneers and patriots. Their spirits will always be living in the wild blue.
