"The Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels and Other Verses" is a collection of poems published in 1943 by Sapper H.E. "Bert" Beros. The most famous poem in the collection, "Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels", celebrates the Papua New Guinean carriers who assisted Australian troops during the Kokoda campaign of World War II. These carriers, nicknamed "Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels" by the Australians, were known for their bravery and compassion in carrying wounded soldiers, despite the harsh conditions.
