Auschwitz: Voices From the Ground (2001) By Teresa Swiebocki and Henryk Swiebocki
his album containing documentary footage and current photographs by the internationally renowned artist Adam Bujak. With his pictures, Bujak shows what the former concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, the eternal symbol and memorial for remembrance, honor and warning, looks like today. When looking at the photographs, one should always bear in mind how perfectly the SS deceived their victims and knew how to cover up and cover up the traces of their crimes. This is particularly clear from the Nazi documents, where the true and actual actions of the SS were kept secret under the guise of kryptonims. The same applies to the blueprints for some buildings in the camp and was used to camouflage certain objects. Bujak's photographs give an artistic impression of the former camp. They show an abandoned site where nothing remains of the victims of that drama. The photo section of the album is completed with archive photos from the years 1940 - 1945. Hundreds of thousands had to suffer a painful death in the Auschwitz concentration camp, just like the people depicted on them. This album is dedicated to the memory of all those victims, often unnamed and unknown.
